Synopsis:
Dieses essayistische Videoportrait stellt eine autobiographische Reflexion zum Medium Film dar. Von den Anfängen der kinematographischen Revolution, über die ästhetisch-ideologischen Konzepte des 20. Jahrhunderts, bis hin zu der Infragestellung der Rolle dieser technologischen Kunstform im beginnenden dritten Jahrtausend, entgleist dieser Kurzfilm seiner Traditionslinie, und analysiert anhand von Beispielen des klassischen Filmkanons die Bedeutung von bewegten Bildern, narrativen Momenten und künstlerischen Absichten.
Der Filmemacher reflektiert, erschafft und hinterfragt die sich überschneidenden Ebenen der Realität und Illusion, welche aus dem Geist kinematischer Form entspringen, und den Film als die repräsentativste Kunstgattung der Moderne auszeichnen.
This essayistic video-portrait depicts an autobiographical reflection on the medium film. From the early beginnings of the cinematographic revolution, to the aesthetic-ideological concepts of the 20-th century, and the questioning of the role of this technological art-form in the beginning of the third millenium, this short-film is going off the rails of his tradition, analyzing by means of examples from the classical film-canon the significance of moving pictures, narrative moments and artistic intentions.
The filmmaker is reflecting, creating and questioning the intersecting levels of reality and illusion, which spring from the spirit of cinematic form, and designate the film as the most representative art-genre of the modern world.
